HOW TO WAX
Pre-Wax
-
Grow the hair to the appropriate length. For the best wax services results, the hair needs to be approximately ¼ inch long. Please allow about 10-14 days of hair growth before your visit.
-
Gently exfoliate the skin prior to waxing.
-
Wear loose clothing to your appointment (preferably cotton).
-
Do not wax if you have been tanning, had laser resurfacing or chemical peels.
-
No spray tanning 4 days before or after waxing.
-
Avoid caffeine the day of treatment to lessen discomfort.
-
Avoid scheduling your appointment on or just before your period to lessen discomfort.
-
When getting waxed, leave plenty of time before vacations or special occasions to allow for any unforeseen circumstances, breakouts, redness, etc.
-
Please make us aware if using Accutane, Retin-A, Differin, Glycolic Acid, Renova, Salicylic Acid, Avage, Avita, Strivectin, Tazorac, Pro-Active, Benzoyl Peroxide, or any other topical or oral medications that can affect the outcome of a waxing treatment.
-
Do not apply moisturizer before your appointment.
Post-Wax
-
Make your next appointment 4-6 weeks from the initial wax.
-
Avoid pools, hot tubs, saunas, tanning booths, extreme heat, friction, working out, and excessive sweating 24-48 hours after waxing.
-
Do not pick or pull at ingrown hairs. If you are experiencing ingrown hairs, please let us know so we can make recommendations to alleviate the issue.
-
If the area becomes dry, apply a hydrating oil after showering.
-
In order to avoid hyperpigmentation and sunburn, use a sun block after waxing if you expose recently waxed skin to the sun.
-
Gently exfoliate the waxed area 24 –48 hours after waxing. This helps to prevent ingrown hairs.
-
Do not touch a newly waxed area if hands are not clean, as this can encourage irritation or breakouts.
-
Do not use heavily perfumed or thick lotions on waxed areas. These may cause ingrown hairs or irritate the skin.
-
Avoid wearing tight pants or underwear 48 hours after bikini or Brazilian waxing.
